Founded in 1882, by Father Michael J. McGivney at St. Mary’s Parish in New Haven, Connecticut, the Knights of Columbus, has with more than 1.7 million members throughout the world. It is through five key areas of service – faith, community, family, youth and fellowship – that the Knights of Columbus truly makes a difference.
Council 560 is located in Muncie, Indiana. Our brotherhood includes an assortment of eighteen year-olds, twenty to thirty somethings, and a bunch of old guys. We have fun, take our faith seriously and would like to get to know you.
Muncie Catholic is the pastorate serving the parishes of St. Francis, St. Lawrence, and St. Mary in Muncie, Indiana.
Last year Council 560, provided donations in support of our three parishes: St. Francis of Assisi Parish, St. Lawrence Parish and St. Mary Parish. In addition, we actively promoted and supported their special ministries and special events.
The Knights of Columbus considers it a privilege to support education and youth activities in our community by providing post-secondary scholarships and financial support of the Boys and Girl’s Club of Muncie, area sports clubs, public schools, Gibault School for Boys, the Muncie Fire Department.
The Knights support the following organizations whose work we admire: St. Vincent DePaul Society, the Soup Kitchen of Muncie, the Gabriel Project, Living Proof, Knights of Columbus Pro-Life, Special Olympics of Delaware County, Hillcroft, Hoosier Wish Children and Muncie Exchange Club
Our giving extends to the children and families of Haiti through Our Lady of Perpetual Help Orphanage Foundation and Haiti Library Foundation.
Knights of Columbus charities, Catholic charities, St. Joseph Retreat and Conference Center and seminary donations make up the bulk of our regional contributions.
