The Knights of Columbus annually sponsors an essay contest for students in
Grades 8 thru 12. This year’s topic was “Explain how young Catholics can
evangelize our faith to families and friends who have turned away from religion
and encourage them to return to the Church and embrace the sacraments”.
Congratulations to the 8 th Grade winners from St. Michael Catholic School!!
First Place: Elijah Hart
Second Place: Lydia Hazen
Third Place: Melinda Palackel
Each awardee was presented with a certificate and prizes of $100, $75 and $50,
respectively.
The Knights of Columbus invites this year’s 7 th graders to participate in the
Catholic Citizenship Essay Contest next year as 8 th graders. Information will be
provided in August of 2023.
